The Gaslighting Will Continue Until Morale Improves

Keep calm and carry on.

What does that really mean?

Don’t scream when the fear fills you. Don’t walk away from the intolerable relationship that is slowly and methodically stealing your soul. Keep the secrets. Play by the rules. Don’t cause a fracas, a scene, a kerfuffle. Don’t embarrass anyone, especially that “mother” and “father” you’d damn well better honor, no matter what they did to you.

Who are my mother and father now? The people around me say it’s the Church and the State, Dr. Fauci, Joe Biden, and Zelensky, but certainly not Donald Trump or Vladimir Putin. During World War I, the most honorable father was who? Asquith? Lloyd George? King George V or his brother Tsar Nicholas II? Maybe Woodrow Wilson? How about Preston Bush or Herbert Walker? What were they up to? The Dulles boys?

Keep calm and carry on.

Don’t kick or fight back when they lock you up, tie you down, and wrap that gag around your face.

Keep calm and carry on.

Pretend that people who rolled up their sleeves (and probably told you to shut up and just take the shot) are not dying by the thousands. Be kind. Think about the feelings of others. Don’t make them uncomfortable. Don’t make them question their coping mechanisms and their cowardice. Change the subject when they start to squirm. Laugh and make a self-deprecating remark when they insult you, tell you you’re crazy, and put you in your place.

Keep calm and carry on.

What does it mean?

It means sit down, shut the fuck up, and do as you’re told.
