Presently Absent

Sharing or not sharing: that is the question. I go through cycles; one day, I’m determined to just use my voice, no matter what. The next, I feel defiant and determined to never bother again. A day or two later, I’m thinking, Well, my readers should see this stuff.

Today, apparently, I am at the third part of the cycle, sharing some graphics from an important account I follow on Instagram. For all its drawbacks, the Internet/social media is important, because ignorance breeds evil and lets it flourish.

When my first son was about six months old, I bought The Baby Book by William and Martha Sears, and it was integral to what I did right as a parent, but if I had had the resources available today, my family and I wouldn’t be dealing now with the repercussions of parenting practices that were seldom questioned and were generally assumed to be good, or at least, necessary. We, as adults, take so much for granted and seldom bother to try looking at our own behavior through the eyes of child. The world would be a better place if we made more of an effort.
